About Us

My name is Martyn

Having had an early interest in strength and conditioning, I developed my training expertise in a variety of fields, including fitness instructing, martial arts and coaching. Having seen teammates and friends become inactive due to injury, I soon looked to apply my background to exercise rehab. I graduated in BSc (Hons) Sport Rehabilitation with First Class Honours in 2018 and was awarded the Medical & Sports Sciences Prize for Academic Achievement. After working alongside professional teams, including athletes from Carlisle United FC, Sheffield Wednesday FC and Bentley Motorsport, as well as providing medical support for various endurance athletes, I decided to establish Phoenix Sports Injury Clinic to bring premium care to the public.

About Us

My name is Jason

From a young age I’ve had a keen interest in how the human body moves and heals, and helping those who are suffering from various injuries and conditions. I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in sports therapy to help athletes struggling to perform at their full potential.

I completed my degree in Athletic and Rehabilitation Therapy in the Technological University of the Shannon in Ireland in 2024 and I am currently studying my Master of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Cumbria. I have worked in a range of sports since 2022 including Football, Rugby, Gaelic Football, Hurling, and Track & Field. This included youth teams and athletes right through to the highest level in Ireland. Along with working with the sporting population, I have also worked in private clinics treating the general population. Outside the clinic, I have a strong interest in many sports including Football, Gaelic Football, and Running, to name a few.

The Phoenix Ethos

Why 'Phoenix Sports Injury'?

We believe that the silver lining of becoming injured, is also becoming more aware, developing a greater understanding and gaining higher drive and focus. Through challenges and set-backs, we build strength and resilience.

Our clinic strives to use this to succeed in the aim of allowing you to return from injury at an equal to, or higher level, than before your rehab. It is this ideology that led us to adopt the symbolic insignia of the Phoenix, with it's representation of rebirth, strength, balance, continuation and renewal of energy.
